“The depiction of the divinity that the artist provides is curiously close to the concept of wooden sculpture, of totems. The colors and shades range within a range perceptually anchored to the earth, the Sun, wood and bones. A symphony of earth tones that is orchestrated as in an ancestral rite with the sounds of drums. Angelo creates a living totem, an organic divinity suspended in a metaphysical dimension, both concrete and abstract at the same time. Rhythmically, the pictorial work creates full and empty spaces that interact analogically with hypnotic tribal music in a dance for the eyes. A painting that mysteriously becomes an apotropaic religious rite, between dust and sand. The reverberations that this painting manages to create range in the sphere of the senses, involve hearing as much as touch and we are led into an initiatory ceremony. ”
